Ferréol Babin was born in March 1987 in Dijon. After a first diploma in Space Design obtained at the ENSA in Dijon, he settled for a while in Japan and joined the Nagoya University of Art & Design. Back in France, he trained at Studio Robert Stadler in Paris and then in 2012 he obtained a Master in Object Design at ESAD Reims. In 2014 he obtained a year-long residency in the design department at Fabrica, and then worked under the artistic direction of designer Sam Baron. His creations harmoniously and justly combine a rational and functional necessity with a poetic and emotional desire, thus giving rise to calm but nevertheless intriguing objects. Ferréol Babin divides his time between designing products for furniture and lighting manufacturers, and creating unique and sculptural pieces for galleries and private collectors.
