Marta Bakowski

France

Born in Paris in 1986, Marta Bakowski is a Franco-Polish designer.

Graduated from Saint Martin’s School (2009) and then from the Royal College of Arts (2011) in London, she left to join the creative freshness of Berlin where she worked for two years as assistant designer to the Dutchwoman Hella Jongerius.

In 2013, she founded her own design studio in Paris and cultivated a hybrid production there, breaking away from the traditional rules of creation. Anxious to preserve the emotional factor and the tactile expression of the objects she imagines, the designer does not hesitate to apprehend the materiality of her designs herself and collaborates regularly with craftsmen.

She imagines furniture, lighting, wallpaper, ceramics, decorative materials and patterns with a love for bright and cheerful colors.

Since 2015, Marta Bakowski has collaborated with La Chance, Roche Bobois, Design For Peace, Ligne Roset, Le Bon Marché, International Design Expeditions and Maison Matisse.
