After studying applied arts in Bordeaux and then in Fine Arts in Saint-Etienne,
Mathieu Mizzon moved to the Basque Country in 2009 in a small hamlet at the foot of the Pyrenees.

Inspired by this region rich in a centuries-old craft culture, the designer’s studio created in 2013, strives to forge a link, a dialogue, between traditional techniques and technologies.

Brought to design through archeology, his inspiration is rooted in understanding
and the fascination with creative and productive processes.
In fact, from this experience in archeology,
a thirst for understanding the context
creation of an object, its provenance, its
matter, its function, in order to understand the way
whose object was dreamed, thought and made.
The studio’s work displays a desire to produce in a responsible manner, with the desire to place humans and their environment at the center of a global approach, a desire to imagine useful and sensitive objects.
