Nicolas Verschaeve

Nicolas Verschaeve’ work considers with attention the context of each project and tries to highlight the stories and people behind the making of
things. His practice is characterized by intuitive experimentations on materials and by an interest to divert existing production processes to new applications. By considering cultural and historical realities as parameters to embrace since the beginning of the design process, he envisions the discipline as mean to weave a diverstity of practices and actors around each project.

Nicolas’ transversal approch to the design field has been developped through his formation. After graduating from the EnsAD as a product designer in 2017, he worked with Studio Formafantasma in Amsterdam and with Normal Studio in Paris.

Since the set up of his own studio in Paris in 2019, he developped projects with partners such as the Ateliers Médicis, It’s Great Design gallery, CIAV Meisenthal or the Editions du coté. Along his work in product design for different clients, he finds a balance in following a research-based practice wherehe explores new working formats and other collaborations perspectives.
