Graduated from the School of Decorative Arts in Paris and the Royal College of Art in London, Benoit Pierre Emery began his career as a freelance graphic designer for various clients inclu- ding Comme des Garçons, Canal +, LVMH …
For several years, he participated as artistic director in the creation of numerous projects in elds as varied as the publishing, multimedia, scenography and visual identity of many brands.
In 2000, he founded the graphic design studio ‘Le Cabinet’. This studio counts among its va- rious customers: Arte, Paris Première, Cabane de Zucca and Kenzo.
In 2003, Benoit Pierre Emery decided to reorient his career towards fashion accessories by de- veloping his own brand of silk scarves under the label ‘Les Soieries Modernes’. This rst collec- tion is produced by Ateliers AS, a subsidiary of Hermès.
In 2005, he met Pierre-Alexis Dumas who o ered him to draw a rst scarf for the Hermès house, in tribute to the ten years of the perfume ‘24 Faubourg ‘. This rst project will mark the beginning of a long and faithful collaboration, with the creation of more than twenty silk scarves as well as many other families of products.
From 2006, in parallel with his various collaborations with Hermès, he signed as artistic director of the silk, the line stoles and scarves of Kenzo during 12 seasons.
In 2007, following the creation of the silk scarf ‘Mosaïque au 24’, he designed his rst table service of the same name for Hermès. Available in Gold and Platinum, ‘Mosaïque au 24’ is today one of the iconic services of the house. In 2011, he co-signed with his friend designer Damian O’Sullivan, the rst contemporary table service for Hermès: ‘Rallye 24’.
He then signs several other table services: ‘H Déco’, ‘Voyage en Ikat’, ‘Accostage’.
On January 1, 2013, Benoit Pierre Emery is appointed Creative Director of La Table Hermès et des Objets. In this capacity, he launches and directs the creation of a new Capsule ‘Equilibre’ collection, presented at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2016 for the rst time. This collection of exceptional objects for the house was presented last April its fourth edition.
In resonance with his passion for silk, Benoit Pierre regularly continues to draw scarves and built for years a unique collection of vintage silk scarves, including a book project currently planned should present part of the ten thousand pieces together.
