Sophie Dries Architect is a design studio based in Paris and Milan, led by architect Sophie Dries who started her activity in late 2014. She has worked for several years for various luxury interior design and architectural agencies, such as the Ateliers Jean Nouvel, PierreYovanovitch, and Christian Liaigre. After graduating as an architect at the Paris-Malaquais School, and having studied design at Aalto University in Helsinki (Finland), she began by designing the scenography of exhibitions at the Orsay Museum. Sophie Dries has collaborated with a Turkish fashion brand and has set up a visual identity that has been used in several boutique and showroom projects in Istanbul. It has renovated various Parisian interiors: a loft, a private mansion on rue de 1’Université, Haussman apartments near the Tuileries park and in the Swamp. She participated in 2015 in the Danish Architecture Residence of the Jorn Utzon Foundation, at Villa Can Lis in Mallorca. Sophie is currently working on the renovation of luxury apartments and houses in Paris and abroad. She has created her line of furniture: Numbered Edition, at the crossroads of luxury, and crude oil revisited. It operates a radical treatment of forms and always an experiment on traditional materials. Sophie Dries collaborates with exceptional craftsmen and offers a rereading of ancestral techniques. Sophie Dries has exhibited at international fairs and galleries like PAD london in October 2016, the collective fair in New Uork in 2017 with the Galerie l’Eclaireur (Paris / Los Angeles), but also in Brussels, Beirut or Rome; and for three years at the Salone del Mobile in Milan. In spring 2018, it launched a line of carpets, and is preparing currently several exhibitions with galleries international.
